On April 9th, the José Manuel Restrepo School commemorated the National Day of Remembrance and Solidarity with the Victims of the Armed Conflict. Students from different grades participated in educational exercises involving reflection, creation, and presentation of empathetic expressions regarding memory as both a right and a duty that every society requires to understand its past and give new meaning to its present.

This year's commemorative edition was accompanied by theatrical performances, art exhibitions, and student newspaper articles, in which children and teenagers from the school participated. Once again, the educational purpose of this activity is to raise awareness within the Restrepo community about the lasting effects of the armed conflict on the Colombian population, to foster solidarity with those who have suffered through the war, and to emphasize the need to build peace in everyday life.
